USCIS has released new data which shows that average I-526 processing times have reduced by about 5 months in 2020. The latest data released in October 2020 shows that for the period Oct 2019 to Aug 2020, adjudications have been processed in an average of 14.1 months. This is a significant reduction from the previous year, when adjudications were averaging 19.8 months.

As I had previously mentioned in my blog post on Aug 21. The US govt. will be allocating around 100,000 additional green cards in FY 2021 starting on Oct 1 2020. Well, that has become official now. The United States Department of State, which is responsible for annual green card limits has now announced 261,500 green cards will be issued in FY 2021. This is the highest ever green cards that will be issued for EB categories in past history. Generally, every year only around 150,000 EB green cards are issued.

The Department of State which is responsible for allocating the green card numbers every year has announced that for the year FY2021, there will be an additional 100,000 green cards to be issued in the Employment based categories 1 through 5.

On Jan 29 2020, USCIS released a news update which will affect all future processing of EB-5 Visas. Specifically, the I-526 petition, which is the first stage of the EB-5 process will now NOT be processed in a First in First Out (FIFO) manner as has been previously done by USCIS. March 2020 EB-5 Visa bulletin updates
China Final Action Date
Another month, another visa bulletin just got released yesterday (Feb 17 2020). The surprising news here is that China Final action date (FAD) has moved forward 5.5 months to 15 May 2015. This is a big jump as the Chinese FAD has barely moved a few months in the last 2 years. This could be because of the Coronavirus that has shutdown most of China including the US consulate in Guangzhou. My guess is the FAD for China will be moved back closer to December 2014 once the Guangzhou consulate re-opens and Coronavirus is in control.
